You know so many of us just waste our energy................. What do I mean by wasting our energy? Do you realize it takes 43 muscles to frown and only 17 to smile? Now I know that's not a lot of energy consumed, considering it takes approximately 200 to walk, we could frown 5 times before we even take 1 step. What I wonder is why it is so easy to be angry, but so hard to forgive and move on? Do you realize that in the King James Bible the word forgive is mentioned 56 times? Now usually when something is repeated it is for a reason, so that it cannot be easily overlooked. Don't get me wrong it's not a sin to be angry because in Psalms 4:4 says Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. What does that say to you? When you get angry DO NOT REACT (Aisha). Rest on it think about it before you even try to approach the situation because being a woman of God it still has to be approached with love. How do we do this and why are we wasting so much energy on anger...Most times when we are mad, we are mad at someone for something they have said or done. However as children of God we are told in Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places. What is this saying to us? That when we are angered by a "person" it should not be the "person" we are angry with but the spirit within that "person" controlling their actions. The spirit of darkness otherwise known as Satan. Now think about it how much energy would it take to sit quietly (no not mumbling, tapping your fingers or feet and rolling your eyes) but truly sit quietly and think about what was said or done. How easy is it to take it to God in prayer give it to Him and watch Him work it out. II Corinthians 10:4 says The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds. By definition a stronghold is a fortified place, a place that you can not physically penetrate. Imagine a wall that you are trying to knock down and you are using every physical weapon you have to knock it down. This wall is unmovable you could literally sit a bomb on either side of the wall and detonate them and the wall won't even shake. The stronghold in a man is a SPIRIT in them that is not of God. Spirits like anger, yelling, cursing, hitting and even a bullet won't knock down. The weapons you use on that are in God, prayer, fasting and reading the word of God. We must first pray that God remove the strongholds in our lives and then pray for the ones who have angered us. We can not pray and ask God to fix someone else and not want him to first fix us. Prayer fixes things prayer makes you feel good and prayer does not exhaust your energy if it's done right it will actually strengthen you. I hear people say all the time "what don't kill me will only make me stronger" well imagine how much stronger it will make you if you take things straight to God instead of trying to deal with them in our own natural minds. I pray that this has hit on some things for you as I know it has enlightened me. If you desire to do so please join me in prayer so that we may begin to redirect our energy as we direct our problems toward God and allow Him to fix them.
Oh Father God I thank and praise you for the word yo have enlightened me with today. Father I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that it has been all of you and none of me. Father i thank you for showing me through your word what a stronghold actually is. I thank you for clarity today. Father I thank you for teaching me so that I may spread the good news of your word as far as this prayer may reach. Now Father I ask that you forgive me for being led by strongholds in my own life, for mishandling your people. Forgive me Lord for not walking in love for sinning in my anger and forgive me for my unforgivness. Father I pray that you would remove every stronghold in my own life Lord. Father do a work in me that I may help to do a work in your Kingdom. Father help me to waste no more of your time and energy on things that I have no control over. I thank you for your word and the way it has changed my life. I thank you for your grace and I thank you for your mercy. Father I pray that this word not fall by the wayside but that it would be a word that we can live by I thank you for it. In Jesus Mighty name I pray..........Amen

ReplyDeleteok.....For me it would not be easier to go to God in prayer and leave it with Him to work out. As an individual, I want revenge and iwant it in my time not God's. I want to be able to witness the vendication and approve of its severity. I have 20yrs of not forgiving, grudge holding, and vendictive character traits VS my 9yrs in Christ. True there are spirits behind actions, but people are also deficient in character (selfish, no respect for boundaries, dont know how to b a good friend, dont know how to treat people). These deficiencies motivate their behaviors. Lets go here...First what does forgiveness look like, physically executed? And are we giving the same forgiveness to everyone. I had a sister in Christ betray my trust and I no longer talk to her. I eventually forgave her, but there was no longer a place for her in my life. Now we are always encouragfed to mend relationships within the body, but is that true period. Should i preserve the raltionship with my 32 yr old male cousin whom i caught molesting my 3yr old daughter? Or is forgiveness and no relationship okay there. But again, what does forgivenees physically look like. I know i must forgive so that my life is not stifled, so that the person does not hold that control over me. And perhaps b/c the bible tells us to, no disrespect, but only a few are letting that book guide us every step of the way. But the aforementioned reason is something anyone can understand. In addition, what kind of offense are we talking? But i guess that doesn't matter or can be overall answered when we define the physical execution of forgiveness. As people we do not like to be hurt, used, mistreated, lied to.....things that Jesus probably endured all the while still saving the loss, but as we strive to be like him we don't like it. in turn we want payback. Neverhteless, this is helpful as I continue to daily remind myself to forgive and move on. That in the end i will b vendicated by God maybe even good old Karma. But it is a test when people these days dont comprehend that version of fighting. The only fight they know is physical, and so if u not fighting like that then u r not fighting at all. and they feel they have won. so now u(i) have to be the bigger person and be confident that i will winin the end(?).....i so wrote this 4 times and this is probably not what i originaly thought or wrote..lol
